Working for us...

Our business is continually expanding and as a result we are recruiting highly motivated individuals who take pride in their work.

If you’ve read the other sections of our website, you will have a good understanding of how we work, and how important the quality of our service is to us. The same applies to the people that we want to work for us.

We believe in investing in and developing our own people, so all of our team members will receive a thorough induction into our business to ensure they have a great understanding about how we work – and to give everyone the tools to work to the best of their ability.

Our Trainee Traffic Management Operatives (TMOs) will also begin a comprehensive training scheme on their first day with the business – and all TMOS will be mentored by another member of staff to ensure they are fully supported in their new role.

Not all heroes wear capes

Want to join the Hooke Highways team?
Here are the benefits we can offer you...

Training & development

We believe in investing in  our team members and helping them to develop.

We provide Training and Development opportunities for all Traffic Management Operatives and love to see our people gain qualifications and progress.

We work closely with our Operatives to help them achieve industry recognised Lantra qualifications from Unit 2 Streetworks to M6 tickets.

Transport for Work

Keeping our staff safe and correctly equipped to do their job is a priority.

After a qualifying period in the job you will be allocated a 3.5 tonne Mercedes vehicle.

All of our vehicles are less than 2 years old and for your safety are fitted with both cameras and trackers.

We continually assess our fleet and invest in research and development to ensure our vehicles meet high environmental and safety standards as well as providing ultimate levels of user comfort and functionality.

Welfare & wellbeing

We recognise the importance of our team members mental health and well being.

We support Lighthouse, the mental health charity which offers 24/7 help and support for construction industry workers via the Construction Industry Helpline.

We’ve also trained Mental Health Firstaiders in all of our depots so our team members always have someone to turn to for support.

And we’ve launched a #TimeToTalk ToolBox Talk as part of our mental health and well-being programme.

Career progression

We want every individual to feel they have the ability to progress their career.

As well as personal Continued Professional Development we offer opportunities for hard-working, highly motivated people to progress within the team.

There are monthly awards for being a positive role model / top TMO in each Depot

We are always open to suggestions for both staff training and workplace incentives.

Protection & equipment

Keeping our staff safe and correctly equipped to do their job is a priority.

All our staff are provided with quality fully branded Personal Protective Equipment in order to keep them as safe as possible in their role.

We carry out regular PPE equipment testing and trialling to ensure we use the safest, most durable and long-lasting equipment.

Our team members are also equipped with the latest State-of-the-Art equipment to ensure workflows are maintained as effectively and easily as possible.

We listen to our team

By engaging and consulting we aim to keep all our team members in the loop, which is vitally important to us.

We publish a regular newsletter to keep our teams up-to-date on changes within the business and to give recognition and thanks to individuals.

We also make sure we publicly recognise the hard work of our employees via our social media channels and Pirkx, our internal benefits site.

Great earning potential

We offer guaranteed hours with plenty of opportunity for overtime at an enhanced rate for unsociable hours (6pm-6am and at weekends).

We also offer our employees a free financial healthcheck to help them achieve the best from their earnings.

We also regularly review the progress of all of our TMOs, with a rate increase whenever a new Lantra ticket is completed.

Additional perks of the job

We offer a great range of additional benefits via our company Perkbox scheme, including:

  • Discounted gym and fitness memberships

  • Discounts at major retailers such as Asda, Tesco and Boots

  • An open platform to recognise the help
and hard work of HH team members

Refer a Friend Scheme

We launched our Refer a Friend scheme in 2021 to help us recruit the very best people.

The scheme rewards current employees for each successful recruitment referral.

Employees can earn up to £200 in Amazon vouchers each time they help us to recruit
a successful candidate.

Like our clients, we find the best people
come to us from recommendations.

Opportunities for everyone

Because we want the best people for the best jobs, applications are open to everyone.

We do not discriminate and aim to keep an open mind when assessing suitablity for all roles, with staff safety remaining our priority at all times.

We also welcome applications from fit older people and candidates who are looking for a career change or a new challenge.
